Big tune incoming, this one from the minds of ArpXP & Ellis Esco. This is “Questioning”, a deep yet powerful liquid bit that hits hard while maintaining its message. I love a good tune with purpose driving it, this one really hits home.
“Questioning” holds a lot of weight, not only in its basslines but also the message behind Ellis Esco’s vocals. “This music makes me feel alive and I don’t even bother questioning why”, a simplistic yet incredibly compelling line in Ellis Esco’s hook, it’s relatable for most of us and our experiences dealing with the sheer power that music holds. I love this hook, it really says a lot without saying too much.
ArpXP’s production on this track is also simplistic yet totally compelling. It’s all vibes, but on the darker side of the Liquid Drum & Bass spectrum. The roaring bassline drives the tune while atmospheric pads and ominous leads pull everything together. By all standards, it’s the perfect composition. They hit it out of the park with this one.
Grab “Questioning” from ARPXP & Ellis Esco, out now on SUNANDBASS Recordings, you’re not going to want to sleep on this one.
