Time Slip Recordings opens the door to The Blue Room Part One, the first installment of a two-part journey from Brazan that dives deep into the darker side of drum & bass and jungle.
Built around cold atmospheres, rolling breakbeats, punishing low-end, and a persistent sense of tension, The Blue Room Part One creates an ominous world where nothing feels entirely safe. Across four tracks, Brazan keeps the pressure high while moving between eerie sound design, heavyweight techstep influence, and raw jungle energy.
The descent begins with “Chronophage,” introducing the EP with unsettling textures, twisting percussion, and a bassline that gives the track its sense of warped momentum. “Feyd Rautha” follows with a more aggressive approach, pairing razor-sharp drums with a sinister science-fiction atmosphere.
“Him Dead” strips things back toward raw jungle pressure, driven by dark subs and relentless breaks. Closing out the first chapter, “Nightmare” delivers exactly what its title suggests, combining haunted sound design and creeping tension with a suffocating late-night atmosphere.
Rather than relying on oversized drops or unnecessary theatrics, The Blue Room Part One stays focused on the fundamentals: rolling drums, heavy bass pressure, and atmosphere built for dark rooms and serious sound systems.
With a second chapter still to come, Brazan’s latest release establishes The Blue Room as a place worth entering, but maybe not somewhere you’ll want to stay too long.
