This weeks Criticals Classic Corner is a BIG one featuring two of the tunes that EVERY DnB artist absolutely must know about. The Nine and Biosfear completely laid the ground work and shaped the future by changing what everyone thought Drum and Bass should be and sound like. Bad Company is and always has been know for making the tunes that were in everyones crate and probably got played multiple times at every Rave every weekend with good reason. This team of producers didn’t even have a box to think inside of or outside of they made music from another galaxy. Stakka & Skynet were pioneers in the early days bringing the harder dark sounds and grimy BASSS to the DnB game. These two shaped and built sounds that still can’t be reproduced to this day cementing their legacy. The way they crafted Biosfear together with Kemal & Rob Data was game changing in that it is still 173 BPMs but it feels like you are being shot across the universe at ridiculous speeds. These four horseman of DnB production will forever be remembered for the huge leaps and bounds made in the sound of the music of Drum and Bass.
