OCTANE’S MUST HAVE TRACKS: AUGUST 2024

August is coming to an end and as the last slivers of summer will fade into fall we’re still holding on to those upbeat, energetic vibes and out of control sound designs that overloaded our drum and bass playlists. Here’s a few of my favorites, all styles of DNB!

Quyver “Underground” [Bass Rabbit Recordings]

From the ‘Launching Sequence EP’ on Bass Rabbit Recordings Quyver’s “Underground” offers intense energy from the first beat. Unforgiving rhythms and brutal basslines make this tune pop and the effects and sampling is top notch. A real treat for the dancefloor “Underground” will boost the adrenaline in the mix and keep ‘em jumping with every hit.

Kexit “Turn It Back” [Elephant Trunk]

Playful heartwarming vocals entwined with blistering basslines and punchy beats bring a plethora of heat to scorch through the mix. Kexit’s colorful sound design delivers an intense flavor to entrance any raver into the dance. “Turn It Back” released on Elepahnt Trunk is a must have!

Dope By Association “Blow Your Mind” Ft. Quannum Logic, burnboy, Nikal Fieldz & Q The Music (Noisesmith & Zardonic Remix) [DistroKid]

If you’re ready for an intense injection of heavy metal into your drum and bass playlists don’t miss the Noisesmith and Zardonic remix of Dope By Association’s “Blow Your Mind” on DistroKid. Sic guitar riffs and cutthroat rhythms that morph and flip tag between aggressive vocals expressing a fierce message of neurofunk! You’ll want to turn this one ALL THE WAY UP!

Absu_NTQL ft. PRDK “Brain Damage” [Darkshire Sound]

Absu_NTQL and PRDK come together for a mind bending, heart thumping, bass filled blaster of a tune with “Brain Damage” on Darkshiere sound. This tune whips and slaps relentlessly flying between concussive kicks and blistering basslines riddled with insane sampling and effects. A surefire pick to annihilate the mix “Brain Damage” can’t be missed!

Victim “Blurred Features” [C4C Limtied]

Dipping into the darker vibes of DNB Victim’s “Blurred Features” on C4C is full of monstrously wicked beats. A flawless arrangement of that spectacular tech step sound keeps this tune grinding through the mix emitting an eerie essence as it tightens its grip. If you’re after a fresh twist on those dark, expertly engineered neuro rollers “Blurred Features” from Victim is it!
